Elf Hats

I made these little elf hats to dress a sculpture in my living room for Christmastime.  See Dress Your Decor — For Halloween! for the Halloween hats I made earlier this year, and a photo of the sculpture.  The only difference is that I have moved the sitting figures from their regular spot on the mantle to the top of my living room bookshelves to make room for stockings!

I still might sew a jingle bell to the top of the green one.

I used two felt triangles sewn together to make the hats and then I embellished them.

Here are some of the pieces for the yellow hat. You can see that I didn't need much felt at all.

I sewed a foam peppermint to one little hat and made a poinsettia flower and leaf trim for the other from felt scraps.  It is easy to make hats of any size to dress sculptures and figurines in your home for the holiday!  If you don’t care for sewing, just use a strong brand of craft glue to secure your hat pieces together!
