No-Bake Chocolate Hazelnut Pie

This is one of my very favorite pies to make.  Ah…Chocolat.

The recipe could not be easier, the chocolate and hazelnut combination is utterly delicious, and this pie is the perfect dessert for the late summer heat because it’s light and creamy!

No-Bake Chocolate Hazelnut Pie
Makes 1 pie.

1/2 cup of milk or cream (I like half n’ half for its richness)
16 large marshmallows or about 80 small marshmallows
nearly 1 cup, (7 oz), of chocolate hazelnut spread
10 oz of whipped cream
1 sleeve of crushed graham crackers
3-4 tablespoons of melted, unsalted butter

pie tin

Begin by making the crust by combining the crushed graham crackers with the melted butter.

The graham cracker crumbs and the melted butter.

Press the crumbs into a pie plate.

The crust all pressed in.

In a saucepan, combine the milk with the marshmallows over medium heat, stirring constantly, until they are melted into the milk.

The result is a milky froth that will thicken when combined with the chocolate hazelnut spread because of the marshmallows.

Remove the saucepan from the heat.  Add in the chocolate hazelnut spread.  Stir until well combined.  Cool the chocolate mixture.

The chocolate glops go in the pan with the creamy milk mixture.

Once the chocolate filling has cooled, fold in the whipped cream.

Ah, smooth and full of chocolatey, hazelnutty flavor...

Fill the graham cracker pie crust with filling and refrigerate for at least 2 1/2 hours before serving.

Oh, I wish I could eat it now!

♦♦ Optional: Garnish the pie with crushed hazelnuts or chocolate shavings.
